Church Family

Today while I worked, my kids played with some friends and had a great time. When I arrived to pick them up, Alexa had just woken up from a 2 hour nap, and Caleb was running around the backyard with a bucket on his head for a helmet and a play sword in his hand. He was having so much fun. When I called him inside to go home, I found filthy dirty hands and face and a pocket full of moss. I'm not sure what possessed him to put moss in his pocket. You may be wondering what in the world this has to do with the title of this blog, Church Family. Well, these friends go to our church. Our regular babysitter is our pastor's wife, and three other ladies from the church have kept the kids this school year (including Molly, of course). I am truly blessed by our church family, and especially the care that they give to my children each Thursday while I work.

Girls' Night Out

Molly and I went to Ippolito's, a yummy Italian restaurant tonight for her birthday. I picked the restaurant because I was able to purchase a $25 gift card for it from restaurant.com for only $2. Yes, I am frugal, I mean cheap, even when it comes to my best friend's birthday. I'll let you check her blog later to see what her present was; she promised to post a picture. No, we did not call each other before hand to ask what to wear (although we did talk on the phone this afternoon), but we still managed to match anyways in our white shirts, dark jeans from New York and Company, and boots. We both had Caesar Salad an unmentionable amount of the yummy garlic cheese rolls. I had Chicken Romano, and she had cheese tortellini with shrimp in pesto sauce. We both had enough leftovers for another meal, and the waitress even gave us some rolls to take home. We ended the meal with a HUGE piece of chocolate cake that we could not finish even though we shared it. Since it was still early when we finished dinner, we did a little shopping at TJMax and Marshalls which are in the same shopping center as the restaurant. All in all a fun night, especially since Dave agreed to keep both kids while we went out. Thanks, Dave, and Happy Birthday, Molly!

My Kroger Haul Today

I got everything in the picture plus a gallon of milk and a carton of Breyers ice cream for $14.43, a savings of 83 %.
And here are all the bags of stuff in the back of my van ready to take to Must Ministries tomorrow to donate.

This Week in School

Our theme this week is rain, so we have been singing, "The Wise Man Built His House Upon a Rock."
Putting up our new shape, an oval. Excuse the coupon paraphernalia all over the table.
Learning his full name.

Note to Self

Do not take kids or husband to muddy playground on the same day that you mopped the kitchen floor. Also, do not feed kids rice and tacos for dinner after mopping. When kids are very quiet while you are cleaning up aforementioned rice and tacos off the once clean floor, go check on them.

93% Savings at Kroger

I got some great deals at Kroger today, and I plan to go back a few more times before the deal is over. Although, I am mad that the cashier missed one coupon; I should have saved more like 95%. Anyway, the sale is Buy 10 participating items and get $5 off your order. This makes several items free. There are also some other coupons and deals right now that make other items free as well.

Here is a list of things I got for free today -
Carnation Evaporated Milk
Scotch Brite Ultra Nail Saver Sponges
Pert Plus Shampoo
Cottonelle toilet paper
French's Worcestershire sauce
Tylenol Extra Strength
Tylenol PM
Quaker Oatmeal
Betty Crocker potatoes

I also got some cheap cookie mixes. Later this week, I plan to get some more of these items as well as free Deer Park water and cheap Breyers ice cream

Happy Birthday, Molly

Happy Birthday to my best friend!
Here's some cake for you. ;)
