Thirty Months

My sweet Sierra is 2 1/2 years old!  Here's what she is up to at 30 months -

-Weighs 27 lbs and is about 35.5 inches tall.

- Wears a mix of mostly 3T clothes.
-Wears a size 4 diaper.  Still needs help pooping.
-Drinks water, juice, and milk.  Loves oatmeal, bagels, pizza, spaghetti, and mac and cheese.
-Naps once a day around 1:00.  Sleeps about 2 hours.  Goes to bed around 8 and sleeps until about 7:00.  She was getting up at 6 something every day and then napping for only an hour.  Fortunately it was a short lived phase.
-Walks everywhere - our house, other's houses, the store, the park, the pool, church.  I do still carry her a good bit, but only because I can't always convince her to walk the direction we need to go.
-Jumps and dances on command.  Both are hilarious.
-Is doing well in speech therapy.  She says "Hi" to everyone while waving.  Repeats "Mama" and "Dada" on command.  She used to say "Toes", but she won't anymore.  Tries to imitate lots of sounds during therapy.
-Will do all the motions if I sing "If You're Happy and You Know it, Clap Your Hands".
-Started occupational therapy to work on her sensory issues.
-Is still happily rear facing in her carseat and will be for a long time.  While her head growth has slowed down, it is still very large in comparison to her body.  It is much safer for her to be rearfacing.
-Likes going to the pool.
-Loves her Mommy.  Daddy is a close second.  This switches periodically.
-Loves hugs and tickles and kisses. Nuzzles in and makes kissy noises.  Loves having raspberries blown on her tummy.  Also loves to make Dave kiss me.
-Is my sweet Sierra, and I love her lots.  Even when she's rotten.

Sierra's First Day of "School"

I decided to sign Sierra up for Mother's Morning Out one day a week next fall for two main reasons: transitioning her to special needs preschool when she turns 3 and giving us some time to home school without as many interruptions.  When I went it, the director told me that they had an opening for Fridays for this school year, so I signed her up.  Since last week was Good Friday, today was her first day.  While she didn't exactly love it, she had a pretty good day and actually did better than I expected.

While she was at school, we took some of our school work to the park.

Then we met some friends from school to play disc golf.

We ran to Target and were ordering at Chickfila when the school called and asked me to come get Sierra.  So we took our lunch to school and ate with her.

Easter Weekend

Dave and the kids started out Easter weekend by going camping with Aaron, Charlie, and Austin. Sierra and I stayed home and also attended our church's annual ladies' brunch.

Once the kids got home and cleaned up (and in their jammies), we did an egg hunt inside because it was raining.  Fortunately, it didn't rain at all where they went camping although it rained here much of the weekend.

Sunday morning was church, of course.  And cute coordinating outfits even for me.  How blessed I am to have these 4 beautiful, crazy kids!

Grammy and Gramps came over for lunch and another egg hunt, this time in the backyard.

Happy Easter!

Sierra snuggles

I came around the corner on Sunday to tell the kids it was time to leave for church, and I found Sierra snuggled up next to Caleb on the couch watching Elmo.  She is so blessed to have older siblings who love her so much.

Hammock Fun

Dave used some of his birthday money to buy another hammock for camping, bringing the grand total of hammocks we own to four.  He put three of them up on Saturday and everyone enjoyed some relaxing time in the hammocks.

Another Birthday

On Saturday, we got together with my family to celebrate my Great Uncle Julian's 80th birthday .  The party was at a park, and the kids had a great time playing outside.

Happy 35th Birdthay, Dave!

Dave turned 35 on Monday.  He came home from work a few minutes early so we could have pie and open presents before going out to dinner with my parents.  I let each kid pick something for him off of his Amazon wish list, and they were so excited to show him what they had picked.
