Happy 4th Birthday, Alexa

We had lots of fun celebrating Alexa's 4th birthday today. She was dying to open presents this morning, so I let Caleb give her the one he had picked out -
Belle gloves, ring, purse, and necklace. She loved it, and he was so proud of himself.
She helped me make her cake.
The finished product.
Opening more presents - a dress, a Strawberry Shortcake DVD, and a princess art kit.

Sweet four year old girl.
Out to eat for her birthday dinner in her new dress.

Opening presents from Aunt Andrea while on Skype.
A new Tangled doll!
Time for cake!

Brushing her doll's hair.
Jordanna had her very own piece of cake.

Chocolate Dipped Bananas

I took Alexa grocery shopping with me on Friday while Caleb and Jordanna stayed home with Daddy. When we were picking up some bananas, she noticed a chocolate dipping kit right next to them and asked if we could get it. Since I love chocolate dipped bananas and thought it would be a fun summertime activity, I agreed. And they turned out yummy!

Fifteen Weeks

At week 15, your baby stretches his limbs and bends at his elbows. He's getting big enough that you can feel many of these movements.

This week your baby is roughly the size of a small apple or orange. His bones are continuing to grow and lengthen. While he looks more like a baby, his skin is still thin and translucent with his veins visible.

Your baby is also beginning to grow lanugo, a very fine hair. It will keep growing until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy (that's week 28 of your pregnancy).

Begining of Birthdays

We apparently do birthdays in pairs around here. My birthday and Dave's are fairly close (2/23 and 3/17). Then Alexa (6/27) and Caleb (7/14) have birthdays just over 2 weeks apart. And now Jordanna (12/7) and baby #4 (due 12/18) are going to have birthdays near each other. Anyway, it feels like we spend weeks celebrating Caleb and Alexa's birthdays each summer. And it has begun for this year. Alexa is spending the night with my parents tonight for her birthday treat, and I think she is having a great time!

Here she is with the present she picked out -
princess make up.
And playing with the kitties.
And I'm assuming that this is what she picked out at the bakery.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Dave took Caleb to his first baseball game (that he remembers, at least, he went as a baby) this week. From the looks of the pictures, they had a lot of fun.
Thirsty boy!

Running the bases

Goofy kid!

Jordanna Laundry

Do you think I should wash her on cold or hot?

Sprinkler Fun

We got together with some friends from church today and let the kids play in the sprinkler and then had lunch. They had a great time and were apparently worn out as both girls slept ALL afternoon.

Fun with Grammy and Gramps

My parents came over for dinner Saturday night, and the kids talked them into playing some games. Caleb and Gramps played checkers, and Grammy and Alexa played Old Maid. Jordanna made a general nuisance of herself.

Summer Fun

Well, being at home is not quite exciting as the beach, but we have been staying busy nonetheless. Here's some things we've been up to.

I took my three plus this little guy whom I babysit once a week to the park to play and then to story time at the library. Yes, I am crazy.
Unloading the dishwasher. Do you think they will think this is fun when they are 13 and 11?

Having a tea party. Alexa set this up by herself while I was cleaning upstairs, and Caleb joined in the fun.
Fruits and veggies from the Farmers' Market. Yum!
Making individual pizzas.
Caleb's smiley face pizza (it's sideways, so turn your head).
Summer school. We're doing a little bit of school 3-4 days a week. Caleb practically begged me to do school on Monday. Right now our theme is oceans (since we just got back from the beach) and next up is zoos (with a field trip hopefully).
Playing hopscotch.
