Caleb is 8!

My handsome Caleb turned 8 on July 14th.  Where does the time go?

He requested a basketball cake and also got a basketball from us and a hand-me-down basketball goal from Uncle Nick.

We took him to Steak N' Shake for his birthday dinner also at his request.

Afterward, we went bowling.

Sierra tried to kill herself while we bowled.

She even pushed the ball once.
Caleb had quite the interesting technique.

Back at home, we opened presents.
And climbed on the presents

And ate cake
Caleb's actual birthday was on a Sunday, so we spent the afternoon with Molly and Nick.

Nick got to blow out a candle, too, since his birthday is three days after Caleb.

Happy 8th Birthday to my favorite Caleb!

Nineteen Months

My sweet Sierra Grace is 19 months old!  I couldn't manage a picture of her next to the sign this month.  She was too interested in crumpling it up.  Anyway, here's what she's up to at 19 months.

-Is about the 10th percentile for weight and 50th for height.  We're very happy with her weight gain.
-Still eats pretty well except for fruits and vegetables.  She'll still eat baby food pouches, so I get fruits and veggies in her that way.
-Drinks water, juice, or fruity soy milk (yuck) out of a sippy cup.  She has also learned to drink out of her water bottle and a straw.  Yay!
-Has a mix of 12-18 month, 18 month, and 18-24 month clothes and now some 24 month clothes.
-Wears a size 4 diaper.
-Naps once a day around 1:00.  Goes to bed at 8 and sleeps until about 9.
-Loves walking holding on to someone's (preferably Daddy's) hands.  Is very insistent about which direction she wants to go.
-Wants to climb the stairs.  All day long.
-Has become quite the Daddy's girl lately.
-Now receives her therapy at home.  Hasn't had any doctor's appointments this month other than therapy.
-Made it through the last three Sunday mornings without screaming her head off in the nursery.  This is huge!  She has never done well in the nursery.
-Loves Elmo!
-Is my sweet girl!

Trip to South Carolina

We took a fun trip to visit my aunt and uncle in South Carolina over the Independence Day weekend.  They live on a pond and have a pool and an outdoor kitchen.  I think the kids (and Dave) wanted to move there.

We drove up on the 4th.  Gramps and Alexa did some fishing while the little girls napped.

Then Dave took the kids swimming.

One of the highlights of the trip was the fireworks display that my uncle set off from a boat in the lake.  The kids loved them even Sierra.

Friday morning we took the kids to the zoo.

Then Saturday morning we drove home.

It was a quick trip, but we had tons of fun!
