Crazy Weather

We have had some crazy weather here this late spring and early summer.  It can go from sunny to thunderstorms in a matter of seconds.  Case in point, we had the Johnsons over for dinner a few weeks ago.  I made the yummy sliders pictured below, which is completely beside the point.

Anyway, we were finished with dinner and were just hanging out when we heard a loud clap of thunder and the power went out.  We decided we better check the weather and realized we were under a tornado warning,so into the hallway we went.  All 10 of us.  Two of which (Sierra and Charlie) pooped and one of which (Alexa) threw up.  When the weather cleared up, the Johnsons headed home.

We were still without power until about 2:30 am.  It's a good thing Dave has a head lamp to see into the dishwasher,

and a battery powered fan to rig up to keep Sierra cool.

Eighteen Months

Eighteen months!  How has it been a year and a half already?  Here's what Sierra is up to at 18 months.

-Gets weighed and measured at the doctor next week.  I'm guessing 21lbs and 31 inches.
-Eats very well in quantity.  Not so much in variety, but we're working on it.
-Drinks water or juice out of a sippy cup.  Is fully weaned from nursing!
-Has a mix of 12-18 month, 18 month, and 18-24 month clothes.
-Wears a size 4 diaper.
-Naps once a day around 1:00.  Goes to bed at 8 and sleeps until about 8.
-Signs "All done."  Still no other signs.
-Says something remotely resembling "Hi" and "Bye" when she waves.  Not sure if these should be counted words yet.  Says "Eh" loudly when she wants something.  Or screams and throws a fit.
-Climbs up the stairs well and can get down remotely safely.  She also likes walking up the stairs holding someone's hands.
-Loves climbing up the little slide and going down it. Again and again and again.
-Pulls to standing and can almost climb on the couch.
-Walks holding someone's hands and even has taken a step or two with a push toy.
-Got orthotics for her ankles this week, and they have really helped with stability.
-Still receiving occupational and physical therapy.
-Loves Elmo!
-Is my sweet girl!

The Beach!

We went to the beach with Dave's parents last week.  The weather was beautiful (except for the effects of the tropical storm the last day), the house was great, and we had a wonderful time!

Memorial Day Picnic

My mom suggested a picnic for Memorial Day this year instead of a cookout.  It was great weather, and the kids had a ton of fun trying out a new park.

Sierra could swing all day.
Gramps swinging Jordanna.
Sierra enjoyed her lunch!
Jordanna ate half her lunch sitting in Gramps's lap.
Proof we brought the big two kids as well

More Outdoor Fun

I've been trying to get the kids outside as much as possible before it gets too ridiculously hot.  We've been to the park several times and have also played outside in our yard.

Pool Fun

Oh, hello there, blog readers.   Have you been looking for me?  Well, I've been looking for time to blog.  Anyway, we've had several hot days lately and have pulled out the pool on the back porch a few times already.

Sierra loves playing, but she seems to be happier just splashing around from outside the pool
