Lemonade

One of my main pregnancy cravings this time around has been lemon flavored stuff, especially lemonade and frozen lemonade or lemon Italian ice. So, my little helper and I made some fresh squeezed lemonade this morning. Homemade lemonade is actually more expensive than store bought, but it tastes way better and has no additives. If you live near an Aldi, a 2 lb bag of lemons is $1.29 this week, which is a great price. Here is the recipe for my lemonade.

7 1/2 c water
1 1/2 c freshly squeezed lemon juice (with pulp or not as you prefer)
1 3/4 c sugar

In a small saucepan, bring 1 c water and sugar to boil. Boil for one minute. Cool on the counter for a bit and then refrigerate until chilled. Meanwhile, squeeze lemons to make 1 1/2 c juice. Mix lemon juice, sugar water, and remaining water in a pitcher and stir. Chill in the refrigerator until cold. Yum!
