Saturday morning we loaded up the cars and headed to the beach with Molly and Nick for a week. We have not been to the beach for a full week since before we had kids, so we were sure this would be quite a fun adventure. Little did we know.
The ride here was great. Jordanna and Alexa were in the van with me and Molly. Alexa talked our ears off, and Jordanna was a dream baby. She only fussed for 10 minutes of the almost 8 hour trip, and that's because she was hungry and there was no exit to pull off to feed her.
After lunch, both girls napped.
And then Alexa ate some M&Ms.
And finally we arrived at our beautiful beach house.
Here's the view from the front porch.
And here's Dave hanging out with Jordanna.
We noticed the house was warm on Saturday, but we assumed it was because we were opening the doors a lot while we unloaded. Sunday morning we went to the beach for a bit. Then we went to church. It used to be called Name of City Baptist Church, but now it's called The Gathering. Let's just say it was interesting. According to the pastor, we had fun with God. But the nearest reformed church is 50 minutes away. Anyway, we got back to the house and had lunch and began to notice that it was hot in the house. Really hot. We finally called the realty company, but there's not much they can do on a Sunday afternoon. They did bring us some fans, which helped a bit, and we all got some sleep.
This morning, we all hung out at the beach.
Jordanna is 6 months old today, and this is the only (horrible) picture I took of her. Oops!
After lunch, Molly and I went to the grocery store. While we were out, we got a call from the rental company letting us know that the air would not be repaired today (we actually found out later that they will be replacing both units) and offering to let us switch houses. We are a bit picky about rental houses. We made a whole spreadsheet to pick the house for this trip. But we are even more picky about having air conditioning, I suppose. So Molly and I went driving around looking at other options for houses. The realty company just gave us the keys and directions to several places and let us check them out. It was actually a bit fun. So we managed to all agree on one and got all moved in before having pizza for dinner.
Alexa LOVES her Uncle Nick.
Here's our new house.
And here's the view from the back deck.
Here's hoping for a cool, uneventful rest of the week.

Sometimes you need to go to another church to appreciate your own! It looks very nice down there and the four adults to three kids ratio is a good thing. ENJOY!
AND A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
i (think) i recognize one of the beachfront houses. are you are where i think you are?!
Nope, Kristina, we're not. None of us has ever been here before.
